RICO’S RECORD
ON THE COMMON COUNCIL
Rico has worked diligently to manage the finances of the City of Waukesha effectively and responsibly, amid challenging effects of our broken shared revenue system
Rico has worked closely and meets regularly with our Chief of Police and other top officials to collaborate on progress and goals concerning public safety, infrastructure & prevention
Rico has met with hundreds of constituents solving everyday challenges from garbage pickup, sewer backup, flooding, to street signs and parking
Rico meets regularly with business owners throughout the city, even outside of his Aldermanic district to bridge the gap between local government and our local economy
Rico believes in bringing more people into the political process as well as inviting more residents to concern themselves with local government. That's why, on the common council, Rico goes out into his community and regularly connects with folks who otherwise wouldn't be aware of challenges, elections, and discussions around policy
IN THE COMMUNITY
Rico has consistently talked with his neighbors, constituents and state officials to keep our residents informed, and included surrounding budgetary conversations & economic discussions
Rico recently graduated from the Waukesha Citizens Police Academy and has firsthand worked with the Police Department on ride-alongs to see our first responders in action
Rico prides himself on remaining consistent and proactive to reach out to constituents to hear their concerns, before challenges arise
As a single father of three, Rico has been a lifelong stakeholder in our local economy and supports our small businesses, both on the common council, but also out in the community
In Rico's election for the Common Council, he beat a popular long-time incumbent with the largest share of the vote out of any district on the ballot, and his election saw the largest turnout of any district on the ballot; because Rico turned out new voters, young voters and focused on issues rather than rhetoric
CAREER
Rico has spent his career in education, from the Northside of Milwaukee down to Mukwonago, over to St. Francis, West Allis Central, and back home to Waukesha South; all the while continuing his own education for his third Master's degree
Rico has private sector experience, managing budgets, creating jobs and working on commission. He knows how small businesses operate, accountability to management and how workers meet challenges
Rico is devoted to his community, coaching high school and community sports in basketball & soccer
PERSONAL
Rico is a devoted father of three, a homeowner, and Alderman on the City of Waukesha Common Council. All of his community matters to him, and all of his residents come before politics
Involved in his children's education, Rico keeps himself up to date on school events, School Board meetings and policy, and was involved in the PTO during his children's grade school education
Rico chose to stay in the community that he loves because of his families, and the opportunity our city provides to all of its citizens. He's running for State Assembly to legislate these values statewide and make Wisconsin a better place for all of us to call home
